Fishing the Rogue River, Oregon for Chinook and Coho Salmon

Fishing the Rogue River, Oregon for Chinook and Coho Salmon - Mike Nolan is the President of the Crescent City Board of Realtors, a fellow RE/MAX Coastal Redwoods agent and most importantly, a highly regarded local fisherman.  He brought us ling cod a few days ago and said he would bring me salmon tomorrow if I took his floor time for him today.  Believe me, I'm getting the better end of that deal.

Follow Mike's fishing adventures on my blog.

Howdy ya all,

Got to spend the morning with a great friend trolling the Rogue. First chinook I have landed in awhile. Released a wild coho salmon also. Just thought I would share some joy for me.

Kind regards,

Mikee

Tolowa Dunes State Park in Pictures - Crescent City, CA

Tolowa Dunes State Park in Pictures -

I know I have shared this walk with you before, but when I wrote the previous post, the lake was breaching into the ocean. Today, the sandbar is intact and we were able to walk around the lake a bit.  Our dog, Jack, had a wonderful time swimming in the lake, which is freshwater, and the walk is one of the most beautiful in Del Norte County, which is saying a lot because there are so many.

Tolowa Dunes State Park, Crescent City, CAThe park takes in some of the finest wetlands habitat on California's northern coast. An ancient sand dune complex that has evolved into several distinct ecological communities, Tolowa Dunes encompasses ocean beach, river, open and vegetated sand dunes, wooded ridges, and wetlands. A diverse assortment of birds, animals and plant life thrive here, and the area serves as an important stopover on the Pacific flyway for thousands of migrating ducks, geese and swans.

Below ,my husband Garry and dog Jack are on the sandbar with Lake Tolowa on the left and the ocean on the right.  When the lake gets too full this is where it breaches into the Pacific Ocean.

Jack had so much fun swimming in Lake Tolowa (freshwater).
