Crescent City makes America's Prettiest Towns list at Forbes Traveler.com
There are so many reasons that Crescent City would make the Prettiest Towns in America list. To name a few:
- Pristine parks: Tolowa Dunes State Park, Beachfront Park, Lake Earl Wildlife Refuge, Jedediah Smith State Park
- Miles of rivers for rafting, fishing and more: Gasquet, home of the forks of the Smith River, the Klamath River
- Beautiful and quiet places to swim: Second Bridge a swimmer's delight
- Miles of beaches: South Beach, Enderts Beach
- Fresh seafood: Fresh Crab, Fresh Tuna, Tuna fishing w/Mike Nolan, Fishing the Pacific North Coast w/Mike Nolan
- World Class Fishing: Crescent City Harbor, Fishing the Rogue River
Not to mention Pt. Saint George Reef Lighthouse, Battery Point Lighthouse, Batter Point Pier, Redwoods State and National Parks, Point St. George Recreation Area, surfing...need I say more?
Here is a link to a cottage by the beach that I just listed. Let me know if you want more information.

Thank you for stirring up old memories, Fran. My family and I have been down the coast a few times and we have always enjoyed our time in Crescent City. We have walked over to the lighthouse you have pictured at low tide, and have really enjoyed the scenery there. Actually, I would really like to get back through there again.
Guy,
Your comment made me decide to add a link to my post of my newest listing, a cottage by the beach. If you come to town again, you really must eat at the Bistro Garden in the harbor on Anchor Way. Have the salmon special and tell Chef Daniel Fran sent you.
Hi Fran, That is a beautiful photo of the lighthouse. This is a wonderful local post and really shows that Forbes has good taste in their judgements.
All that and nearby redwoods, too. I'm going to have to break away and come back down there again.
Jim - Call me if you do and I'll take you to lunch.
William - You would think you died and went to heaven with the photo opportunities in my neck of the woods. I wish I were better with a camera so I could show it off better. I'm going to work on that.
you know what? i've never heard of this place but that picture is BEAUTIFUL! that blue water just put me on vacation in my mind...thanks fran, i'd like to go swim now but it's cold in philly and the water isn't even near blue so i'll do that in my mind as well, lol
Dee,
You would need a wetsuit to swim in our water this time of year!
