Crescent City Real Estate News: Del Norte County and Other California County Foreclosure Statistics

Del Norte County and Other California County Foreclosure Statistics

home - sheriff's saleDel Norte County ranks 50 on the Foreclosure Radar for foreclosures in the State of California.  Foreclosure Radar bases their findings on actual foreclosure auctions and ranks the 52 California Counties with number 1 being the worst and 52 being the best.

The top 4 California Counties for best foreclosure rates are:

  • #52 - Marin (no surprise there)
  • #51 - San Francisco
  • #50 - Del Norte
  • #49 - Siskiyou

The counties that ranked the worst:

  • #1 - Riverside
  • #2 - Yuba
  • #3 - Sacramento
  • #4 - San Joaqin

I was pleasantly surprised to see Del Norte County with such a good ranking.  I would attribute a part of that excellent ranking to the median price of Del Norte County homes holding relatively steady around $250,000, making Del Norte County an affordable option for California real estate.

Fran - what great info and I'm glad your market is doing so well - we do have lots of foreclosures here right now  - becoming Short Sale experts - out of necessity.

Hi Fran-

It sounds like you're concentrating in the right area- keep it up!

Those areas on the other side.... it really is a shame.

Fran,

I just found out from my uncle, who is a real estate attorney in S. Florida, that he is having 20 new foreclosures a day come through his office.  That is pretty sad... but then again, the Ft Lauderdale and Miami area where ranked pretty high in the nation (Ft Lauderdal was #2 for a while).

Glad to hear your area is still doing well.
