How to convert hits to phone calls? That is the question.
I have implemented many of the great ideas I have learned from reading Active Rain blogs and they are making a huge difference in the traffic I am getting on my website.
Some of the changes I have made:
- Added buttons to my website that take consumers directly to listings that I have categorized for their convenience (luxury, custom, commercial and REO listings).
- Wrote several posts about REO listings that are showing up on the first page of a Google search.
- Ran a website analyzer that I found on a post on AR. The analyzer showed me I had too many words in my tags and description. I used the suggestions of the analyzer and have followed-up to see if I come up better in Google searches...I do.
- Branded myself - I have come up with what I consider a good brand after reading one of Aaron Auxier's posts on the subject of branding. I am using this new branding on my website, my blog and will use it in all my advertising to establish myself as "The Redwood Coast Real Estate Connection."
- Emailed a link for every new REO or short sale to my clients that takes them to my website and the individual listing.
- Staying in touch with my clients by email, snail mail or phone call. I would like to be foremost in their thoughts if either they, or a friend needs a real estate agent.
These changes have doubled the hits on my website in the last two weeks. This makes me very happy, but I am not seeing a marked increase in phone calls. So, again the question...How do you convert hits to phone calls?

Hey Fran - Good post. We've also added Market Snapshot reports to our web, blogs about our listings and email. Big results and the leads go directly into our Top Producer and a message gets sent via text to our cell phone. Thanks for sharing & Greetings from Paradise.
Good stuff Fran. It certainly sounds like you are taking the right steps.Just keep doing them.
As for phone calls....do you need them? Are folks contacting you via email?
Personally I'd be perfectly happy if I NEVER received or had to make a phone call. The entire focus of my Internet stuff is to get people to contact me via email. And they do. I get emails every day off of my sites from potential bu8yers and sellers.
Well done Fran
Phone calls will come if your website is on top of the search engines for potential consumers. Every phrase possible must find your sight on page one of Google. For 10 years I have been on page one of Google for my Atlanta real estate site, www.AtlantaBestHomes.Com Also, it is important for buyers to have your phone numbers, and toll free numbers very visible on your web page. The following is but a very small sample of on how many terms you must be found. But it works. I have never used pay for click or paid anyone to do what I do!
Fran, this is viral marketing in it's best form. This is why I get so many leads from my web-site I push it all over the place. It spreads, it is viral, like in a cold.
Oh yea, we do call them. Once they visit us, our highest rate of return and conversion is picking up the phone.
Fran,
Great informational post that should help us all who apply it. I too work very hard to convert hits to clients.
Great to see I was able to share some branding ideas with you.
Fran, Excellent post. To get results that double your production in two weeks is amazing! Great job and keep up the wonderful blogs. I wish you the best of luck in all you do
